  1. The maker's site claims it is a rubber compound, not a vinyl.  I suspect it is a mixture of a nitrile rubber and vinyl.  I cannot determine the solvent system they used to disolve the material, but I suspect it is a mixture of diethyl ether and toluene.  If you can determine the exact solvents they used and can procure them and handle them safely, you may be successful.  

    CAUTION!  Unless you know how to handle diethyl ether, do not handle it.  It is very volatile, very flamable, and it forms explosive peroxides with air exposure.  The risks are so high that it may be better for you to buy new product.


  2. No, the hardening is a chemical reaction which cant be reversed.

  3. Look on the container for the solvent that should be used.  Add a bit at a time and it will thin right up.
