Can Levothyroxine be snorted?

Question

I know this sounds insane, but not being able to eat or drink anything but water 3 hours before or after taking it is making me insane. Since I know people snort drugs to get a faster result, would that solve the not being able to eat thing since it'd be going into my system and to my thyroid faster, and also that it isn't in my stomach? Or would it produce bad results? (remember, I am ASKING because I do not KNOW)

I've never taken this medication but now people who I have had as patients come to me for hypnotherapy.  First of all 3 hours before eating anything is not correct.  You only need to take this med a half an hour of eating.  You could probably snort this and it still have some of the same effects but I would not.  It probably won't be as effective and it can mess up your nose.  this medication swells up and I'm sure you notice this when you swallow it.  No telling what it could mess up in your nose.  Also it takes a few weeks for your body and thyroid to even respond to this med if it even is going to.  Don't chance it.

Anything can be snorted if you reduce it to powder.

However, if you mean "Would it be safe or advisable to snort Levothyroxine" then the answer would be NO.

Doing that would give you mental, lung, and breathing issues.  It would not get to the correct area of the body.
