Can Lewis Hamilton still win the championship title? – Formula 1
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has been deemed as one of the most competent title contenders in the 2012 Formula 1 season and he still has a chance to win the championship.
Hamilton has performed convincingly well in the season so far and has attained impressive results for his team. Moreover, he has been one of the most consistent point scorers in the season until now.
Although, he has not been able to score even a single point in few races because he faced some technical issues in his car. Nevertheless, he has delivered some inspiring performances and surely stands amongst the list of potential candidates in this year’s title chase.
It will be important to note that the British driver has also lost some crucial points in a couple of races due to poor operational strategy of his team. Nonetheless, he has never lost his hope for the title and after securing promising results in the Japanese Grand Prix, he insisted that they must make the significant improvements for the forthcoming races and should never give up their fight for the championship.
“The car that I ended the race with in Japan felt great and I'm confident that we'll kick off the race weekend in Korea with a strong package,” Hamilton said. “I put the car on pole there last year. That was a very significant moment for me, I'd been trying so hard all year to get a pole, and it took everything I had to get the best out of car. It was a huge effort, and a bit overwhelming at the time.”
“We've got momentum on our side once again, so I head to Korea determined to fight for victory,” he added.
However, the competition is very tough and the 2008 world champion will definitely get a tough time from his main rivals which include, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing and Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus. Therefore, he really needs to work harder to make his mark stronger in this year’s championship battle.
It will be exciting to see how the 27-year-old performs in the remainder of the season and whether he will be able to win his second championship title or not.
