  1. Hi Christy

    Yes, Lexapro can cause night sweats. As with most medications, the side effects should pass within a couple of weeks. If not, see your doctor. She/he may just have to play about with the dosage.  


  2. Yes, excessive sweating in general is a problem with Lexapro.  If they're pretty bad, mention it to your doctor and see if they want to change your dosage.  Try changing the time of day you take the dose and see if that helps, as well.

  3. Whenever you are prescribed any medication, please PLEASE read the accompanying info carefully, esp. side effects. Sometimes seemingly harmless side effects indicate a serious allergic reaction or harmful drug interaction. Sometimes very unpleasant or painful side effects are normal and go away in a month after the body begins metabolizing the drug properly. Please read your info or go to WebMD to read a list of side effects.
