Can Lexi Thompson put up a tough fight at the Evian Masters?
Lexi Thompson is no stranger to Evian Masters tournaments. She played in both the 2010 and 2011 editions and posted some impressive results on the scorecard.

Lexi Thompson is one of the most talked about players in international golf today. At the age of 17, she has managed to win three tournaments. This is a major accomplishment that tells of a great golf career in the coming years.
Thompson’s amateur career is equally illustrious. She started out at the age of twelve and won the 2008 U.S. Girls' Junior later on. She also represented the US in the Curtis Cup.
In 2010, Thompson petitioned LPGA for a sponsor exemption status. This exemption would have allowed her to participate in more than six LPGA events, step siding the limit for non members.
Considering her performance, LPGA granted the exemption and Lexi Thompson was on her way to a great golf career.
Lexi Thompson’s first Evian Masters was in 2010. She finished the tournament with a total score of 275. This got her the second position.
This was a surprise, even for many commentators who had predicted a top-10 finish for Thompson. She lost by a margin of one stroke to Ai Miyazato, the Japanese star.
This performance was a great morale booster for Thompson, who was very confident for a repeat performance in the 2011 edition of the event. Sadly, her performance was not up to the mark. She finished on the 36th position with a total score of
286.
2012 has been kind to Thompson. She has been in great form and has played some good golf. Many experts are hopeful for a top-10 finish for Thompson.
This will be the last edition of Evian Masters as a minor tournament on Ladies European Tour. The 2013 edition will be a major tournament, adding a fifth major event on the LET calendar.
Will Lexi Thompson be able to stand her ground against the top players coming to the Evian Masters 2012?
She has already faced many of them previously during major golf events. Add to that her past two Evian Masters appearances and many predict that Thompson will prove to be a difficult opponent to beat.
She is very familiar with Évian-les-Bains, the course where the tournament will be played. This is a benefit that she will use to her advantage once the initial rounds are out of the way.
Evian Masters is scheduled for July 21st to 24th. The tournament is already a well known event on the international golf calendar. Another attraction is the large prize money attached to the trophy.

Lexi Thompson is all set for the Evian Masters this year. She has been playing good golf and has already built a great record for the year.
