  1. Yup ... if they couldn't then everyone would have a mac...and it would be all over the media

  2. What  most people say is correct. Macintosh uses a proprietary Operating System (Mac OS X) and will allow outside software companies only enough information about the Operating System as to get their program to work. This prevents others from figuring out how to write viruses for Mac. Also Linux doesn't get viruses, and they work on very similar principles. I have a PC running Mac OS 10.5, it doesn't get viruses either.

  3. The guy above me is wrong

Yes you CAN get infected just like every other computer in the world

Macs just are less targeted by virus creators. They always go for PCs, it's always good to maybe have a small free anti virus just in case : )

  4. I have 2 Macs and use them a lot, and I don't use any antivirus software, because there aren't very much viruses for Mac.

go there and look it was another post by a mac user who got a virus. mac and linux "not getting viruses" works on the same principle as using firefox insted of IE to avoid malware and viruses. They are less used programs so if your coding a virus/malware are you going to code it to hit a small population or a large one well the large one of course cause your a douche

  6. no...

    mac cant infect by virus...

so you dont need to install antivirus..

  7. yes to make sure..or you can go to best buy or circuit city and ask the people there and if they say yes you can buy it on the way =)
