Can Maine Coons be black?

Question

Maybe a little whitish- like some white hairs. Really fluffy?

Can someone explain what characteristics a Maine Coon kitten should have?

I have a black 10 week old kitten and I'm trying to figure out his breed.

HI there... Maine Coons can be black with some variations of colour.

Any long-haired cats born that appear to have similar characteristics to a pedigree cat are only classified as a Domestic Long Hair (DLH).  Unless the kitten came from a breeder which bred Maine Coon to Maine Coon, your kitten would be considered a DLH with a possibility of Maine Coon heritage.
