  1. Should he be elected because he was a pow? No.  But as far as "milking" it or whatever, after the horror he went through regardless of how long ago it was, he can talk about it as much as he wants, in my own opinion.

  2. I think there are many Holocaust survivors with far more meaningful experiences of suffering.

  3. Considering the number of times my Grandpa recited the same war stories over and over (and I'd give anything to hear them just once more) I'd say he still will.  I don't know how far it'll get him, but he'll sure try.

  4. His arms actually were not damaged by the Cong- He hurt them by repetitively patting himself on the back.

    Maverick?

    Try political opportunist and phony.

  5. Do you know how bad of an officer you have to be to get passed over twice for Admiral when you are the son of a son of an Admiral, a Naval Academy graduate, and POW?

He is even running on how bad he was, and how many times he was punished. Bragging about setting records for demerits. He calls that being a Maverich.

In the Navy we called it being a box of rocks when we were around female civilians.

Do you know how bad of an officer you have to be to be assigned to negotiate contracts with arms dealers instead of being assigned to lead men? There is your answer.

You are spitting in the face of every good officer that ever served if you make them take orders from that retrograde piece of flotsam. We had to carry his "Oh but I was a POW so you can't kick me out" sorry shirking and enjoying it butt for years.

That is why we support Obama 6 to 1 with our dollars now, and you can bet the 1 came from first enlistment seaman that have not figured out the score yet.

  6. Really that's his entire platform. If he did not have that to talk about he would just stand there like a stump.

  7. All is fair in politics.

Obama repeats that McClain voted w/ bush 95% of the time

McCain repeats he was a pow.

    Anything to get a vote.

I predict that McCain will hold himself captive in a burning building and Obama will race in and save him.  That way they'll both have new claims to fame.

  8. It's expected..the elderly love to reminisce. You can't blame the guy really.

  9. He knows it'll bump him up with military families (of which there are many right now) and with other Vets.  Small problem though - it seems he's not so supportive of other POW/MIAs and some say his code name was "Songbird" as a POW for obvious reasons.  I think this trainwreck of a campaign will derail closer to election time when the mainstream media lets loose with everything known.

  10. He sure can. At least to the people who love our country and admire the heros that helped it to become the greatest nation on earth. The liberal agenda will turn us into a banana republic looking for someone to give us our next meal.

  11. At least he has 1 to milk, and earned at that; what is yours or your candidates?

  12. He doesn't do it on purpose. He just forgets that he keeps telling the same story over and over again. Poor old dear.

  13. It is very sad. isn't it ?

  14. Based on what I've read in McCain's book, "Why Courage Matters", I've come to the conclusion that mentally he is still living in Vietnam.

I don't mean to belittle his experience as a POW or his service to the USA.  He is a remarkable man, but being a POW is an unfortunate circumstance, it does not qualify you for the presidency.

What has come out of his POW experience that was positive is that he learned to deal with extreme adversity.  I admire him for that, but I'm voting on issues, not life experiences.
