  1. He has proved that he is a successor of great Murai and much More

muthiah said it with his own words~

  2. It looks possible at the moment. He should be cleverly used by the captaion to achieve this

  3. He can if he bowls consistently well...."Consistency" is the key to success! There is no doubt that mendis is an immensely talented bowler but of late i found that the Indian batsmen are getting used to his bowling style! I know he took 3 wickets today but he was expensive! But his style is totally unique...he bowls a mixture of deliveries which probably bewilders the batsmen!

It's still hard to say whether he will be a "legend" like Murali. I know both 've different style of bowling but i'm talking abt  "being a legendary player". Murali is already a legend, he is the highest wicket taker in tests, where as, mendis has just started but he had a superb start to his international career! Mendis has a long way to go and he has lot more to prove as well!!!!

  4. no way!!........he s jus a starter and has a long way to go....!! murali s far unique wit his action n no one can b another murali in near future. As per the proverb, all that glitters are not gold, mendis who shines now can fade away very soon.....matter to wait n watch......!!!

  5. yes

  6. nah, Mendis figures will slowly get dissolved with loads of runs, Murali is a much better bowler !

  7. yes if he hyper extends his elbow like murali whose double jointed

murali gets enormous amount of spin from the back of his hand and double jointedness

i dont think he wil ever be able to spin it as much as the genius of the Murali

i like the guy and he has got his own unique carrem finger only time will tell

i think he might need to develop more spin

thank you i hoped i helped you as much as Oz

  8. Dear Kbplus,

I don't think he will be another Murali, each person is unique. His bowling style is different too.

In terms of wickets he has the potential to overshoot his comrade. He is a sensation and a prodigy !

    Rehman of Multan

  9. yes of cause

    he already shown the potential

  10. no he is too predictable looking at the action

    but hes got a potential

just watch him play against aussies and his world wud b upside down

  11. He is mania for India team wen he ll beat once thn his mania sud b out cheers mate.

  12. Muttiyah murlidharan is a legend.Mendis has a long way to go,but together they can rip any bating line up.

  13. Muttiah Muralitharan is leagues apart and over Mendis.

Mendis has yet to prove himself.

  14. Yes... in a long run.. I think he will ....

The way he plays with the ball is great...

  15. Of course he can.

Muttiah Muralitharan and Ajantha Mendis are 2 completely different bowlers BUT they share a similarity, they are both unique.

Muttiah Muralitharan is one of the most un-orthodox bowlers in the history of test cricket, when he first came on to the international scene, batsmen had never seen anything like him, and they struggled.

Ajantha Mendis is similar, although he has more of an orthodox action, he is still unique. He isnt like a Shane Warne or an Anil Kumble. Mendis has a unique run-up, and he can bowl 9 different type of deliveries. So the batsmen will always be guessing what delivery is coming next until he has been around for 5 or 6 years, then batsmen might start to read him.

No team will be able to read Ajantha Mendis, he is a one of a kind bowler (just like Murali) and he will be very successful in the future.
