Can Microban (a liquid pesticide added to sheets of acrylic)really prevent mold/mildew acrylic bathtub liners?

Adam B and landynjo who work for Luxury Bath, claims Microban kills mold and mildew. When it is a liquid it kills bacteria but how can it possibly do anything when inside a piece of plastic where the bacteria cannot even go?

in the form used for acrylic sheets microban is a powder form and it is not intended to protect you from anything. It does however protect the acrylic.
