Question:

Can Mike Martz turn Alex Smith around in SF? ?

It looks like JT O'Sullivan might win the starting gig in SF. Look for a very long season in SF if that is the case.

Martz has been a QB's gift though, so I wonder if he can do anything in SF with that group of QB's.

  1. if anyone can do it, it is martz. martz turned warner, who was bagging groceries into the superbowl MVP. he turned bulger who nobody has ever heard of into a pro bowler. he turned kitna, a career backup into a guy who threw for over 4000 yrds. martz is a genius and he is the 1 guy who can help alex. there is no doubt that smith is the better than osullivan and hill. the edge osullivan has is that he worked with martz before in detroit so he knows the offense better. i think given the chance, smith can succeed. i dont think he is a bust, i think he can still be a good QB in the NFL.

  2. Well JT o'Sullivan plays  the same system Martz plays, and i hope he can help Smith , Smith since he been with Sf he has 3 or 4 differrent Offensive Cordinaters

  3. No I do not think that even Mike Martz can help Alex Smith out. He's just too bad of a quarterback to be the starter of a team. As for Shaun Hill, I dont think hes worth anything either as a quaterback. J.T. Osullivan will certainly win the spot over im sure of that, but I dont think hes quite at the NFL standards either. It looks like another bad year in San Francisco, I predict last place even lower than the beaten down Rams.

  4. I have a qualified opinion on this which I will of course keep to myself!!!

  5. sure kitty there could be a turn around....as if!

  6. The only way any QB, and I mean any QB, is going to do something for SF this year is if their WR's step up.

  7. Possibly but to me its ridiculous that O'Sullivan is leading candidate to win the starting job.

Alex Smith should be the starter. He was the first pick in the draft and the franchise paid him a lot of money.  It's all for nothing if hes going to be a backup.

He should start and if he struggles then you bring in O'Sullivan.

  8. Alex Smith at this point is a lost cause. Also, its not his fault he's had 4 coordinators in the last 4 years. But, the kid doesnt have that much skill to begin with

    Start Sullivan!!

and the quarterbacks he has had had some talent
