Question:

Can Moguls be formed by snowboarders alone?

I've read (but without proof) that moguls can only be formed by skiers. Is this really true? Why would skiers form bumps but not boarders? Are there any areas that have almost all boarders (and zero skiers) and do moguls not form at those areas?

  1. moguls are evil.

  2. Snowbaorders dont make fast or precise enough turns to form good moguls.  Most skiers hate to see snowboarders in the moguls because they damage them more than they help form them.

  3. Moguls are formed by both skiiers and boarders.

But the only time boarders can form moguls is when they are going around 50mph and they use heel or toe side rapidly without stopping. I know that sound hard but I've done it.

  4. No boarders cause moguls too, but most sucky boarders go down the whole fricking run on their heels and scrape all the snow off the ground, (sorry its kinda a touchy issue lol) so its not as common as skiers.  Skiers make more turns and turn in a different shape/way than boarders do.  And I dont think there are any all boarding resorts in the US if thats what you mean, but if there were you would probably get a few moguls still.

  5. Moguls are usually started by skiiers ( or resort groomers). Its probably harder for a snowboarder to make them, but they certainly can help to form them if they already exist. Usually a snowboarder will go down on one edge and can pretty much flatten the moguls where as it is less likely for a skier to.
