Can Monfils pull another Tsonga-like-upset?

Who thought Monfils will make it this far.?He beat Ferrer for godsake..practically in Ferrer's favorite surface.

Can he be the french open's runaway finalist?

Why is this giving me a chilling case of dejavu.

Lemme me paint the scenario:

Monfils upset Federer(like Tsonga upset Nadal), then Djokovic upsets Nadal(the way he upset Federer at AO), then he meets Monfils at the final(like Tsonga v Djoker at AO).( god forbidd).

Djoker would have cemented his dominance over the top 2 players..(GOD NO!!!)

Things aint looking pretty at the moment..maybe its just my mind telling me stories..arghhh.but its scarily familiar.

Djo defeatng fed at oz open was no upset. Djo (or anyone including fed) beating Rafa on clay will definitely count as an upset due to his dominance on the surface.

No,I don't believe that your scenario for disastre will happen. Ye Gods and little fishes!! It must not happen!!

1. Monfils beat a very exhausted,played out Ferrer who gave his all against Hewitt and Stepanek. Monfils needed  almost 3 hours to do that. So maybe he's not the formidable opponent you think he might be.

2. Monfils against Fed has a slight chance because Fed will now play for the first time at RG with a crowd that is solidly behind the opponent player. He MAY have trouble with that. But Fed has the brains,the experience and the skill to beat Monfils. We have to confide in this.

3. Nadal vs the Djoker...well,I am not making any predictions but I am hoping that Nadal continues to play the way he has all through this tournament. If he does,he'll win.

4. -I'm still pretty confident in a Fed/ Nadal Final.

    - second best would be a Monfils/Nadal Final

       (anything else,yes,by Jupiter,  a disastre!!!!

I sure hope so especially because I relly admire Monfils and his game. But there is no way , Federer has way too much skill and experience for this up and coming rookie , watch Federer to win in 4 or straight sets. As for Djokovic , look for him to give Nadal more of a match. Djokovic will be all over Nadal and don't be surprised if this match goes into 5 sets. If that is the case , Nadal will win regardless.

After his victory over Ferrer today, he might stand a chance against federer. There may be a slim chance that Monfils may be Federer, but there is pretty much no chance that he will be Nadal, the master of clay.

i dont think Monfils can get past Federer at the rate Roger is playing....and Nadal is going to beat Djchokerquit for sure so i think this is another episode of the Roger-Rafa rivalry...but this time, its on clay...and this time Rafa rules....

I really reallly realllly like Monfils, but I wouldn't be able to watch My Federer lose to anyone but Nadal, the King of Clay.  Actually, I kind of want Federer to beat Nadal this year but I also really want Nadal to break the 4 in a row record.

Arrgghh!! I'm so torn!  But really I think Monfils has a good chance against Federer because you know how Federer has quite recently been s******g himself at the wrong times.  Well to answer the question, yes he can definitely upset FedExpress.

No way, Ferrer was tired after his 2 5 setters and Monfils made him run heaps. Roger was on fire in the last 3 sets against Gonzy and played amazing. Fed in straight sets. Also remember Fed beat him on clay recently.
