You’d expect a player of Murray’s quality to improve upon his most recent performances regardless of the surface, and the Scot did ok on clay last year. That said, Rafael Nadal is teetering on the brink of a title after reaching the semis at both Indian Wells and Miami and the move to clay will suit him, while Juan Carlos Ferrero was looking rejuvenated on the South American clay court swing earlier in the year. It will be a big ask for Murray to get past the clay court specialists and claim a title before the French Open, but he should improve on his recent results nonetheless.
