  1. The concept of Muscle Milk is good: (according to the label) "Muscle Milk is an evolutionary formula promoting efficient fat burning, lean muscle growth and fast recovery from exercise. The ingredients in Muscle Milk are designed to stimulate tissue growth and recovery in a similar manner to the way a mother's milk nourishes a baby." However, as a wellness consultant, I would not recommend Muscle Milk because it contains the following ingredients: Fructose, di-calcium phosphate, artificial flavors, acesulfame potassium, and sucralose.

Fructose is not a healthy sweetener. It is a refined sugar that has been named as a causative factor in heart disease and high cholesterol. A generation ago it didn't exist.

Di-calcium phosphate (DCP) is commonly used as a tablet binder and capsule filler. Mineral hair analysis reports have indicated that tablets and capsules containing DCP fillers and binders may be partially responsible for excess calcium in the tissues and joints, causing stiffness, joint issues and circulation problems.

    Artificial flavors, enough said.

Acesulfame potassium and sucralose are artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners are just that...artificial, producing their own set of disorders and toxicity within the body.

Better quality supplements are available that use stevia, xylitol, lo han, or agave nectar as sweeteners. They aren't as cheap as Muscle Milk, but why be cheap when it comes to your health?

Check out Jay Robb's Whey Protein, for example. (Also available in egg white and soy formulas - I don't recommend soy for men) We use it at home. The taste is great! Best of all it has no MSG, apartame, acesulfame, sucralose, artificial flavors/sweeteners/colors, and is made from grass fed cows not treated with rBGH (growth hormones). Just 1 scoop contains 25 grams of protein, 0 fat grams, all the essential and branched chain amino acids, plus all other naturally occurring aminos. On the label are recipes for fat burner, quick energy, pre-workout energizer, quick start and more.

  3. I have never heard of muscle milk but i do know that if you drink 500 ml of milk after a workout it can increase muscle growth by 20 percent. If you drink 2 litres of water a day it will increase muscle growth by 20 percent again! You do not need to build muscle to get a six pack. The six pack muscles are used for function and not for size so you cant reli build on them. You have to remove the layer of fat that is over them. Try and do the plank or something that will keep your muscles constantly tensed!!

  4. "LunaLT" speaks the truth - it will be WORTHLESS unless you workout, do weight lifting and other exercises.

  5. No. It is a healthier option that when paired with an extensive fitness routine may *slightly* aide in becoming fitter. However, it is not really worth spending the money on it when you could do the same thing by taking a good multivitamin and drinking water.

  6. If you do not exercise, muscle milk will have no purpose/effect apart from being an extra source of calories. If you have extra fat on your stomach you need to start exercising for at least 30 minutes four times a week. If you already have a lean stomach area, you will just need to do exercises that are going to target and strengthen your core. When you exercise you actually "hurt" the muscles, which later repair and build themselves back up with extra protein. Right now if all you have is the added protein but no exercise, it will be worthless.
