  1. Like people some horses like company all the time, some like to be alone, some don't care one way or the other.  If your horse has been "out there" in the field by herself for 7 months, I would think that she is fine with being alone.  It would be good though at first to have a friend with you to help if there is trouble...we can all pretty well read our own horses when we are saddling up...if the  horse seems antsy, or nervous..you can always lunge her first...to get the kinks out...then ride around in the arena if you are not all that confident, then head out on the trail.  It will  not take all that long to figure out if the horse is going to be a handful or not...good luck

  2. I would say that you should ride her a bit you self to see how she's going.  Once she's good with being inside and out by herself start riding her with a friend in side and if she's comfortable with this then try her outside not for to long or away from home and then work your way up.  If you find her stressing over anything go back a step or two until she's fine, then continue.  This hopefully will help.  Remember to never move to fast you don't want anything to go wrong starting slow and moving up is the best way this way your both comfortable with each other and others before you off somewhere in trouble.

  3. That depends on the individual.  Some horses get a little freaky if they are not ridden for a awhile.  If you don't know how she will be then ride her by herself at first in a smaller enclosed area like a round pen.  Then if she does fine there then move to the arena and hacking out with other horses.  I can leave 2 of my horses out for a year and then saddle up and ride as if they were just ridden last week with no problems.  The 3rd horse I have needs to be ridden at least twice monthly (hard to do in a southern US summer with the heat and humidity).  If you are a competent rider you should not have any problems at all if your horse is well broke.

  4. I would say walk her out when their is other people in the arena and see how she does and if she is hyper then lunge her as long as you can stay in controol if you can then take her some where safe where she can see the horse and lunge her. and do all kinds of boaring thats that she needs to keep her attention on you..

  5. It completely depends on the horse.  Some do fine.  Others get excited and seem to forget all their training as they are paying attention to the other horses not to you, still others are ready to fight.

  6. lunge her in the arena wit other horses first, then you can get on her if she doesnt spook. Good Luck!

  7. hey i've been doin the same thing wiv my youngster and i started off just taking him in the school, and now i take him out on hacks with other horses, its better to take them out in company in case you run into trouble or anything so yh do take her out in company.

    hope everything goes well!
