Can My Parents Get A Restraining Order On My Boyfriend?

Just about a week ago my parents found out that I was using there credit card. I now have to pay $383.00 for it and also they may be charging me with Card Fraud. They also are threatening to put a restraining order on my boyfriend because they think he was part of this or just because he's a bad influence on me. Can they do that? He's never touched or layed a hand on me!

  1. If they have a reasonable cause then yes they can. And why would you go and use their credit card without permission? Sounds like a mess happening here.

  2. Yes, they can. It will cost money for them to do that.

  3. yes they can or maybe they did it already

  4. Yes they can.

  5. Your parents know that you are a good girl and someone who is a bad influence got you to use their creditcard.

  6. Unfortunately, yes. But they had better have a good reason otherwise it is they who could have legal action taken against them for harassment.

Credit card fruad? One question, Are you a minor?  Using your folks credit card without their knowledge or permission was just flat out wrong. Now pay up.

  7. Doesn't matter, you will both go to jail for theft, maybe forgery, if he was involved.

What a terrible thing to do to your parents. Maybe a couple felony charges will change your attitude.

  8. Why would you want to do some-thing like that to your parents, and now you are worried about your boyfriend. What the h**l is wrong with you.

  9. depends on how old you are. if you are doing such immature acts, i bet you are still technically under their control.

way to go. you deserve it.

  10. well if your under 18 im pretty sure your parents cant charge you with anything. and yes they can charge your BOYFRIEND with credit card fraud because hes not related to them

  11. Anyone can put a restraint on anyone but must provide just cause. If you parents can muster just cause...then they can do it.

  12. I went throughthis to. Well not the credit card thing but my parents putting restraining order on a boyfriend I was dating. It depends on what state you live in and what the laws are. I know here in Mass they can. Anyone in a relationship or a family member of someone in a relationship can out a restraining order out. And no it will not cost them anything. If the restraining order is oked then your boyfriend will have to pay all court fees and a vitim witness fee. It will be costly. If in the state you live in doesn't let your parents get a re stainingg order then they can get a stay away order which will not let him any where near there house, cars, property. It isaltot of time and bunch of bull in a way. If I was you I would talk to your parents and see if you can work something out. If you know that your boyfriend did not have anything to do with the credit card tell them. Ask them if there is another way to deal with this because if he does get a restraining order on him it will be on his file forever. Well I know it satys with you in Mass. Wish you luck
