Can My owner legally take $5 out of my paycheck because i forgot to tell her an item was missing?

Ok so its my owner. which she isnt even like my manager she owns the store i work in. and in my inventory there was a bottle of lotion missing in my inventory and i had forgotten to call her and tell her because i had gotten busy and i was working by myself.. and she now is telling everyone i work with shes taking $5 out of my check.

  1. You mean your boss? Well you need to find the missing item and once that's done then you need to ask her for a reimbursement since the item was found.

    If the item was missing and it was your fault then you need to read over your employee contract to see if you are liable for any missing products.

  2. If it is a paycheck, nothing can be takin out unless you both have signed and agreed on it. That is againist the law for them to take money from you rather you owe them or not. She is not allowed to touch your pay without your premission. Get your 5 bucks...
