  1. If Federer continues his 2008 slump and doesn't win Wimbledon, the US open and Tier I tournaments, and Rafael learns to win on a surface other than clay. If this happens, along with Rafael winning some Tier I-III tournaments and at least making the finals/semifinals at worst of Wimbledon, US and the 2009 Australian..along with winning the French Open again next year will put him over the edge :)

  2. Can, sure he can. But can and will are two different things.

  3. If he takes Wimbledon and the U.S Open and does a better job than Federer did at each of the hardcourt tournaments he played  last year, it can happen. I just don't think Federer is going to roll over at this time of the year,.

  4. yes

  5. I reckon Rafa can. With the form he`s in the now there is no reason why he cant. He is playing amazing tennis and i pick him right now for taking the wimby title. He`s been sooo close the last 2years taking Roger to a 5th set last year, he shoulda won :( :( :( I cried for hours and hours that day, i can remember it sooo clearly, no joke!!! Rafa will be #1 for sure he deserves it more than any other player. In fact he would have been #1 just look at his points no other world #2 player has had that many points and still been #2.

    Vamos Rafa x*x

  6. If Nadal wins Wimbledon, and Federer loses in the 4th round or earlier, Nadal will take over #1.  But that's hoping for a miracle to expect Federer to lose that early at Wimbledon.  But we'll see what happens.  If not, then Nadal can make up a lot of ground in the late summer at the Masters Series events in Canada and Cincinnati, where he only managed to reach the semis and 2nd round respectively last year.  Also the U.S. Open, where he only reached the 4th round in '07.  But again, Federer would probably have to lose early at two of those three events.  And then there's Djokovic to consider, who is close enough in points to both Nadal and Federer to make a move of his own to #1 by the end of the U.S. Open.
