  1. its either defend or lose...

defend 1000 points for winning RG last year

lose some points if he lose in any round... either in the final lose 300 points... lose in the SF, QF, 4th round and so on...

so, he will not be no.1 after RG..

  2. Nope.... Not until Federer Looses in Wimbledon and Us Open.

  3. No. Not during this year's French Open at least. The difference in their points is still too wide.

  4. no, nadal has to defend his title at french open this year, if he failed to make it..... he will loose a points.... unless federer loose in the first round, federer will loose a lots of points and the rank gap between roger and Rafa will be close.... from that, Rafa can gain a points by win on grass court and hope roger not playing well at grass.... that's it..

  5. nope, he would have to win wimbledon and french open back to back.. and atleast finish at the US OPEN as a semifinalist

  6. Yes, I think that Nadal can surpass Federer in the rankings if he were to win the French Open again (I feel that Nadal will win again).

  7. doubt it but i really hope so. i love nadal! he better beat federer in the wimbledon finals this year! nadal deserves it!

  8. Even if Rafa wins it (and I see no problems in that happening again) and Fed loses in the first round, it cannot happen in this French Open.

  9. no he won't.

    check tennis.com.

there is a section about the ranking. his current status  is hard. you must be worried of keeping number two and leave no 1 for who deserves it.

  10. No, Nadal has points to defend from winning last year at Roland Garros, so a repeat of the title this year would not give him anymore points.  Even if Federer were to lose in the first round at Roland Garros, his current 1090 point lead over Nadal would still be enough to keep him ahead in the rankings.

  11. Even is Roger loses in the first round, and Rafa wins, no, he will not be #1, that spot is still Rogers, and #2 is still Rafa's as he proved when he played against Djokovic for the #2 spot.

  12. no

  13. I hope Rafa wins RG for the 4th time in a row :) I really do but i think Roger will stay the #1 for a while if im going to be honest! Rafa would probably need to win wimby aswell. Im useless with the points system, i think the atp should change the rankings its stupid every year the players like (rafa n roger) have to keep making the same results, its like wtf? Thats not possible well they`ve done it for the past 3/4years but c`mon make every final and keep dominating the tennis world lol I dont think so obviously there gonna have losses here n there. Thats why theres no pressure on Novak this year cause last year he made like the quarters n so is progressing to semis and making some finals this year which means he gains more points but it doesnt make him a better player than rafa or roger, people just expect those two to win all the time, well have to give Novak credit because he has improved a lot this year and is playing well. I still feel rafa deserves that #2 spot and should be #1 at some point but probably not this year. Vamos Rafa !!!

  14. i dont think so at all

  15. i'll tell u some technical analysis...more than 1100 points separate Rafa and Roger...so even if Roger loses in QF..( i won't count the worst possibility of him losing in r1..coz that SIMPLY WON'T HAPPEN..)...and Rafa wins it...the gap will just be narrowed from a sea to mere a canal..but Rafa can't surpass Roger at this RG...

  16. i hope that it happens
