Question:

Can Nadal win a golden slam?

Not all in one calendar year, but if Rafa wins the US Open 08 and Aus Open 09, he'll go down in the history books! Maybe he will also win the Davis Cup in between. What does everybody think? Can Djokovic deny him the USO? I'm already excited about the prospect of a Nadal-Djokovic final, now that they are finally on opposite sides of the draw!

  1. I think its TOTALLY possible! Rafa's almost invincible right now! And the Olympic victory's given him extra confidence! Plus he'll enter the US Open as the WORLD NUMBER ONE, which is another advantage. His serve's been working so well; he's the major contender for the title!

Novak's probably the best hard court player right now, and I totally expect him to make it to the finals! A Nadal-Djokovic final would be AWESOME!!!

  2. ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Even if it isn't in a calendar year, I consider it very possible, considering he's a big favorite to win the US Open this year. I have seen no major health problems with his knees this year, which leads me to believe that if he can avoid any physical problems/long matches, he should be able to win the US Open without too many problems.

Should that happen, in January 2009, we can definitely be on the verge of witnessing Rafa do something Federer has never done before in winning a career/golden slam. As long as Nadal's confident, there is NO stopping him.

  3. VAMOS RAFA!!!

  4. no golden slam in 2008 bec he lost in the ao.  in 2012 maybe.  will it count if he wins the ao in 2009, altho its not in 1 calendar year?  i guess the time doesnt matter as long as he wins all major slams consecutively.

  5. I think he has a good chance of winning it. It'll be tough but he can do it. It wouldn't be as great as Steffi Graf's feat, but it will be the closest any person has ever come.

  6. After such an already amazing year, It'd be awesome if he achieves that feat...

  7. Of course he can!

  8. He can win all slams, but not in the same calendar year if he wins the US Open and the Australian open, which is something Roger has not done, but otherwise he would have to start over in January with the Australian Open and win all the slams in 2009.

BUT he has the ability to get a Career Grand slam with two under his belt already.

  9. no

  10. Well, in 2008 it's literally impossible. But in 2009, he definitely has the ability to, as he has shown us at Wimbledon and the Olympics.

  11. This year? Nope. He didn't win the Australian Open.

He can try next year. He has to win all 4 Grand Slams. Steffi Graf was able to do it, so I think Rafa can also do it.

  12. Yes for sure :) I know he`s going do it !!!
