With his win over Novak on Sun,I think Nadal has sent shivers down the spines of opposition at the forth coming Wimbledon.Should they meet,I dont see Novak doing better against Nadal at Wimbledon where they have to play best of 5 sets, than he did against him at the Queen's(best of 3).As for Fed,the only other real opposition,he definitely needs to improve on his current form(despite his win at Halle) to stand a chance against Nadal who is playing on grass as if he is a natural grass court player! One just has to give it to Nadal. He has done his home work really well. His serves are a great threat now.His volleys, drop shots, forehand down the line and aggressive in-court play are virtually flawless and they represent some of the areas of obvious improvements.Winning has become habitual for Rafa. For sure, this is his year!

  1. Nope. Not at all. Roger Federer is back in form again and is running towards victories. He just won the Gerry Weber Cup on grass, without even dropping a single set. Federer also won four of them in consecutive years, and every time Federer won the title, he went on to win the title at the Wimbledon Championships. Whereas Nadal dropped about 4 sets on grass at Queens Club. So it's obvious that Rog is invincible and unbeatable on grass. And surely he'll win the Wimbledon 2008.

  2. No question! I think Wimbledon is on a clay court and Nadal is AMAZING on clay courts so i think he will for sure win!

  3. No! Yes If beat Rojer Federer On Grass!!

  4. i'm really hoping he'll win. it would be really nice to see the king of clay rolling at the grasscourt for being the champ. but hey, roger is not number one for nothing.

  5. well, this year he has shown that right now he is very strong and on a winning streak. Can it last? Will fatigue set in while he is on his too brief holiday in Mallorca?

Federer looked very good and confident at all his Halle matches and has won them more easily than Rafa won his matches at Queens.

I wouldn't count Roddick out either. Yes,he lost to Rafa but he had had practically no "match practice" before that and was just recuperating from an injury. Nole Djokovic looks strong too. and a few more.

Rafa has a chance to make history:

-I don't think a single Queen's champion has ever won Wimbledon.

    - no Spanish(MEN) player has won Wimbly since Manolo Santana in the early 60's.

But Fed has a great chance too.

I find it impossible to predict. But IF Nadal can do it,this is certainly the year that he appears to have the biggest chance of doing so!

  6. lsn! i think that it has become really habitual for Federer to win in this championship! but who knows?? its possible and i think that he has the chance! i really trust his skillz! and why not! ya??

  7. I am absolutely certain that Nadal will win Wimbledon this year.  He's playing closer to the baseline and his backhand can now be considered a deadly weapon, to add to one of the most versatile and brutal forehands the game has ever seen.  His lefty serve is tailor-made for grass.  Next year, Federer will not dare walk on to a court at Wimbledon in that s****. jacket to belittle another opponent.

  8. Anyone on the tour can win Wimbledon thats why they are professional tennis players and Nadal has had his chances in the past to win so its just a matter of if he takes advantage of it

  9. Yeah, I with you! I have a feeling this will be his time. After winning his first grass title yesterday,  I'm sure he'll have alot of confidence coming in to this slam. He has definitely improved his game this year. I wasn't so sure at first, but after defeating nole, roddick and karlovic, it left me with no doubt that he can definitely do it this year. Can't wait till it starts! He will hold both RG and Wimby title!

    Vamos Rafa!!

  10. Yes, he definitely can. Queen's title showed that he's a good grass court player too. Don't forget also last year Wimbledon final. Nadal has been so closed to defeat Federer, and he pushed Federer to his first 5 set Grand Slam final. Nadal is improving a lot this year, especially on grass, and he's never been this ready for Wimbledon.

  11. Looks like you've got the answer all figured out.  :P

I'm a Federer fan, and I really hope he is able to defend his Wimbledon title!

However, Nadal's win on grass is definitely ominous (for Federer).  He's definitely going to be a threat in a couple of weeks.

Nadal CAN definitely win Wimbledon (and I wouldn't really MIND if he does because I do like him as well).  But, I still give the edge to Federer despite his numerous recent hiccups.

  12. no

  13. Guaranteed that he's gonna win this year. He has everything in his game and he has, however much Rog fans deny it, a much more vicious forehand than Federer. The backhand is solid and powerful and his serve just keeps improving. This is his year on grass.

  14. No,he wont win it,i still believe that Djokovic will win Wimbledon.

  15. We know hat he can play on grass, after all he reached the Wimbledon final two years running.

However, Federer had a very good week at Halle at the Gerry Weber Open without dropping serve. Nadal lost two sets at the Artois and dropped serve in the first game of the final.

I think we'll have the same final but Federer will have the hunger because of the chance to beat Borg's record. He's won his last 59 matches on grass and I can't see him losing yet.
