Can North Indians be considered as Hindus ??

Hinduism is the world's most ancient religion . But honestly accessing the situation here in India , especially after studying their history ( Culture & Language ) , people of northern India are most likely recent immigrants from West Asia & Central Asia , who might have migrated to northern India , may be in the last thousand Years or so .

This is especially so , since northern India has seen numerous wars & unusually large influxes of populations .

Here I am not speaking about the HUGE Genetic Footprints left in the north Indian populations in One Thousand years of Islamic Rule .

There are Muslims, Hindus and Christions in the Norh India as well as South India.  Hence it is not a correct statement that North Indians are Hindus.

but regardless of your study, using a general location to describe a religion or to mark a religious group is unfounded and incorrect.

Simply because a lot of Hindus live in that region cannot be construed to mean that ALL people in that region are Hindu.

no one can be "considered" anything. what you have read is right but that is history. today in india , all religions are found in every state mostly. north india does have many hindus as well as all other religions.

The answer is, religion lies in ones faith what he believes in. So if people in North India prefer to be Hindus, we will and shall call them Hindus and let them be. If North Indians can't be called Hindus then most Goans can't be Christrians. I hope you see what I mean and take no offence.
