Can Nursery Rhyme writers actually be considered the pioneers of Rap Music?

  1. Actually, nursery rhymes had political connotations, mainly.  Take for example

    "Georgie Porgie, puddin' and pie

    Kissed the girls and made them cry

    When the boys came out to play

    Georgie Porgie ran away."

    I can see that referring to one of the King George's in history.  Kings pretty much could demand the favors of any woman, and if he were repulsive physically, it would have made them cry.  When the boys came out to play would refer to war or political battles, and Georgie was probably cowardly.

    My interpretation.

  3. I dunno, Nursery Rhymes aren't really to music, some have a little tune to go with them but it's not fast-paced.
