  1. Depression and  other anxiety disorders do accompany OCD. And some people with OCD have eating disorders. In addition, they may avoid situations in which they might have to confront their obsessions. Or they may try unsuccessfully to use alcohol or drugs to calm themselves.

Be careful what you ocd is about, learn and research it to have a better understanding, but don't go over board with it!!

  2. I have OCD and sometimes when it get really hard on you you can get depressed.

  3. When you have too much OCD.

  4. Sort of. Some people have symptoms of both.

Some medications can be used to treat both depression and OCD, so it seems logical that they would be closely related.

  5. Prolonged stress of any kind, including OCD, usually lead to glandular performance deficiencies, which in turn affect neurochemistry, like serotonin availability deficiencies in the brain, which in turn cause chemical depression.

  6. No. You can have OCD and depression, but they are two different mental diseases. I have a friend who has OCD and tends to be sad because she can't control her compulsions. But you will always have OCD and it will never change into depression but may cause it. It also might not be true depression either. Both are treatable but not cureable.

  7. Ask your doctor.. I always use http://www.webmd.com when I have general questions but I rely on my doctor primarily.
