Bill Ayers is not a terrorist.

A terrorist is someone who targets civilians, or does take proper care to minimize civilian casualties. For example, when Georgia (who McCain supports) bombed the South Oseetian capital, they did a surprise attack in the dead of night and indiscriminately killed thousands. It is likely they will do so again, and hence can easily be called a terrorist state.

Bill Ayers attempted to transport people to let off a bomb when no one was expected to be present, and the media was called before hand to let people know when the bomb was going off. However, the transport never succeeded and two SDS people were killed when the bomb went off in the car. Ayers was convicted of aiding an act which never took place, did his time, and is now not a terrorist. At the time, they believed they were fightening to end the Vietnam war, the same war in which McCain was flying over people's villages and bombing men, women and children or dropping napalm on them. He was apparently doing this because he was misled into thinking Vietnam was a threat to the United States.

McCain still likes the state of Georgia, Georgia is unrepentant of it's actions.

It is not the first time McCain enjoys the company of real terrorists.
