Can Obama Thank McCain or Congratulate Palin?

Question

When Obama was nominated, McCain paid for a tv ad congratulating him for being nominated and for making history. When McCain picked Janet Palin, Hilary Clinton congratulated her, while saying she didn't agree with her politics. Can Obama manage a simple thank you or acknowledge the selection of a woman as vice president? Or are the only emotions Obama can manage are glee at his fame and rudeness to others?

Obama DID congratulate Palin.

no , i do not believe he will congratulate her. he does not respect anything about her. remember , he believes in a woman's right to abort , and she did not abort her son even though he had a disability. i respect her even more now that i have seen the articles on her and her family. a mom with 5 kids , a husband who supports her and their children , and they seem to love God and their country. i like the fact she is pro-life and pro-gun. i agree with her !! obama is just a typical democrat who wants things to be ..under his control.. so he can be the boss. we do not need a power hungry  control freak as our president. From what  I've heard Obama did congratulate Palin.  And everyone, please do your research, the first major party female VP candidate was Geraldine Ferrara in 1980!  That is why the media is saying Palin is the 1st for the Republican party.

Oh yes - when John McCain picked Bimbo Jones as his VP he handed the presidency to Obama.  I think Obama should thank him very much.

I did hear that he called her.  But as for a public acknowledgement I doubt it.  He is too busy right now trying to dig up any little dirt he can find on her.  I personally think she is a fantastic choice.  She is honest, a reformer, family oriented & has the highest approval rating of any governor in the United States.  Brilliant choice by McCain!  I have intended to vote for him all along, but now I am thrilled to do so!

For the record, Obama did call Palin and congradulate her.  He didn't make an ad, but it has been reported.
