Can Obama get the Assault Weapons Ban put back into law?

I have an AK47 right now, and I'd love to get an AR15 someday, but the NRA says that basically that''ll never happen if McCain can't beat Barrack Obama. If Obama does win, and he tries to put the ban back in place can the NRA really stop him? Or am I just screwed? Are liberals really against my freedom to buy the guns I want? If so, why do they want to ruin my gun collection for?

i hope not. people kill people. should we ban cars because a person can drive a car in to a crowd and kill just as many.

No Obama will leave it up to the states like all the other presidents. You have to think smart the guy went to Harvard for crying-out-loud. After 911 and 8 years of corrupt government Dem`s don`t talk about it these days. Just a very small minority want to ban guns. Obama is not going to take your guns away.

Remember, it was a conservative Democrat whose ideas weren't all that different from the Republicans, Gov. Blanco, who had her state troopers going door-to-door disarming people after Katrina.

Never happen. It would be way to hard for him to even try. Many Dems, including myself, own guns, and I'm not giving up my gun for some jerk in a flashy suit.

This is the same guy that isn't sure the 2nd Amendment applies to handguns. If Obama gets into office, it will be on votes and support of idiots who think guns, not people, kill people. Rekindling the Clinton Ban will be his first act, then will come the handguns, and finally, long guns and even blackpowder weapons. Barak Obama and his merry band of liberal extremists do not want law-abiding Americans to own firearms...plain and simple. The 2nd Amendment won't matter much if he gets in anyhow...you'll be paying so much in taxes you won't be able to afford guns or ammunition for them!

I own guns...I'm a Democrat.... so what !?

Nobody is going to take our guns away period.....

But if you care about helping law enforcement, then you would agree there needs to be some sort of regulations to protect them and the public.

you should always have to register your gun, just like you would a car....if you sell it, the new owner should have to register it...that way if your gun is ever stolen or used in a crime/murder, the police have a starting point for their investigation.

Assault weapons ?...a weapon is a weapon as far as i'm concerned.  But nobody needs armor peircing bullets.

With freedom comes responsibility.  It would be irresponsible to allow people to have a fully automatic assault rifle with armor peircing ammo...
