I'm making stir-fry and it calls for Sesame oil, but all I have is olive oil...Plus, my store only carried one brand of sesame oil and it was $10. Expensive.

  1. Substitute for sesame oil
Make it: heat 1/4 cup sesame seeds in a heavy skillet with 1 cup of neutral oil (vegetable, canola) about 2 minutes over medium heat, don't allow to burn. Allow to cool off the burner and add to blender jar, mix well. Let mixture sit 2 hours, strain
