Can Olympic athletes do this?

if an athlete has a family that's attending the Olympics to watch, is the athlete allowed to share rooms with his/her family or do they have to share a room with a teammate from the same sport?

just curious.

  1. Athletes share rooms with others from their country/team/sport. Like the gymnasts from the USA would share a room, 2 by room or however it is set up.

    Families stay in hotels.


  2. Olympic village is a very secured area ( and it should be ). Family members of the athletes are not only allowed to share room with them but they are not even allowed to enter the Olympic village. For those staying at hotels, the same rules apply too.  

  3. The Olympic village is only open to the competitors, so no family.

    Not sure about who they share rooms with.

  4. I don't think athlete's are allowed to share a room with a family or friend.
