Can Ontario Disability take back my sons Canada Pension Plan lump sum?

my son and I will start getting our monthly payment from CPP disability at the end of August. Canada Pension paid back Ontario Disability with two lumpsum payments, mine was 22000. and my sons lump sum was 4700.00 can Ontario Disability keep my sons lumpsum.

  1. I'm assuming what has happened here is that Ontario disability has paid you while the CPP disability claim was being processed.  This isn't extra money, it's a loan if you will, to cover the time it takes to deal with the claim.

    Now that the claim has been processed, it presumably includes an amount to cover the time you were already paid by Ontario.  Thus, Ontario is due the money to replace what they paid.

    You can't be paid twice for the same period.
