Can PEOPLE eat hermit crabs?

I know it sounds weird but I was curious one day and 1 searched the web. Nothing...but someone did agree with me on the web that no one has ever eaten a hermit crab. I mean, why cant you?

Hermit crabs don't really have enough meat to be worth the effort. I would assume that they are edible though.

Of course they can....haven't you ever watched Survivor?

It's a lot of work, and theres not much meat, but they can be eaten in a pinch.

They are very small, there is pretty much nothing to eat.
