Can Pakistan live up to its rich history of fast bowling? – Part One
Pakistan cricket is known for the sheer talent it keeps on producing despite a very unstable structure of domestic cricket in the country. The services of Pakistan will never be ignored, whenever the history of the game will be written.
The Green Shirts have always brought new trends in the world of cricket and especially in fast bowling. Pakistan’s batsmen have always struggled in foreign conditions but it is fast bowling, which has always made sure that the country
remains a potent force in international cricket.
Two of Pakistan’s greatest fast bowlers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Waqar-Younis-Maitla-c96193
and Shoiab Akhtar need no mention.
The emergence of two of the most extra-ordinary fast bowlers of the modern-day cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Asif-c1993, was thought to be a continuation of the rich-history of fast bowling in Pakistan.
The duo complimented each other amazingly well as Amir could produce genuine pace and had the ability to swing the ball both ways. Whereas, his more experienced bowling partner was one of the best seam bowler of the world and had
a nice and easy approach towards the crease.
However, their story ended in an anti-climax after the spot-fixing controversy and chances are bleak that either Amir or Asif will be able to revive their careers in international cricket.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Talha-c77400 and Wahab
Riaz, but quite evidently, they have lacked guidance and are yet to fulfill their potential at the highest stage of the game.
Since the resignation of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Aaqib-Javed-c41431, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is yet to appoint a bowling coach, which is shocking because of the fact that modern-day cricket has certain requirements and a young bowler needs able support to
deliver the goods at the highest stage of the game.
Previously, it was announced that PCB will finalise the name before the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 but now the appointment has been postponed once again.
“The appointment will now be made after the tour of Sri Lanka. The bowling coach will not be in place before the tour of Sri Lanka as had been reported previously. The main reason for this is that we don't want to rush the appointment
for an important position as this – it has to be the right person,” former Test captain and a senior board official, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Intikhab-Alam-c64380 stated.
Keeping in view the inexperience of Pakistan’s bowlers and their recent showings in international cricket, this is criminal ignorance on part of the cricket officials of the country.
One of the new inclusions for the tour of Sri Lanka is the left-arm fast bowler from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahat-Ali-c83301, who has been doing exceedingly well in first-class cricket since the last two seasons.
The 23-year-old cricketer is geared up to take the country’s tradition of fast bowling forward and wants to cement his place in the national team in his very first international tour.
Rahat expressed, “Pakistan has always had great fast bowlers and the tradition of fast bowling is well and truly alive in Pakistan. I want to continue that tradition and for Pakistani cricket fans around the world to be proud of me.”
To be continued…
