Can Palin help run a country if she can't keep her own children under control?

I liked the woman until all this scandal has come out. It seriously makes me doubt that she capable to serve as VP of our country if she can't keep her daughter from skanking around.

Thoughts/opinions on this?

Were you ever 17? Did you ever have s*x while not married? Are you a pregnant 17 year old? Consider yourself lucky if you're not. But heck, even Obama's mom was an unwed 17 year old pregnant girl.

   When you are young you make mistakes. We all have done stupid things as kids. Some of us get caught, others are more lucky.

  Doesn't impact Palin's ability to lead. She's not in charge of telling your daughters what to do....

I think that people look at everything in a person's life, especially someone in the public eye.  There is no way for her to be able to make her children do things, or not do things.  There are parents everywhere who have kids that get pregnant before they are married.  It doesn't mean they are necessarily bad parents.  I think that she will have a lot of knowledge from people in the white house and will be able to do what needs to be done.  I haven't decided whether or not I like the idea of a woman helping to run this country.  I think that no woman has any place to be in that much control.  It isn't because she can't handle it, it has just always been that men were the head of the house and women just accepted it, and now women want to be equals.  To me, I think that people are just out to find any little thing to ruin somebody, and that is just what they are trying to do.  I wish the best of luck for our country because I don't really care for either candidate.

Every person, even a teenager, are responsible for themselves.  This young girl had s*x and is pregnant... like about a million other is not more.  She at least is going to marry the father, and make a home for the child.  She is not aborting it like Obama would have us do.

I'm more worried about trooper gate. As far as Palin's daughter being pregnant. As a mother and perhaps the first woman VP she needs to reassess her abstinance only stance and support the teaching of s*x education which not only includes abstinance but includes the teaching of birth control.

Liberals & moderates alike tend to be more understanding in the matters of teenage pregnancy than the religious right. The only reason it's brought up is to shine a mirror on the rights hypocrisy. Where was the sensitivity and understanding when Jamie Lynn Spears became pregnant as a teen? Where was the support? Why didn't we hear that at least she's keeping the child argument from these same hypocrites? There's definitely a double standard when it comes to a member of your own party.

As far as the whole, "At least she's marrying the father" argument. I don't condone shot gun weddings. There was a moral mistake on the part of two people who are obviously too young to have children. They both have a lot of growing up to do. Too bad they don't have the luxury to do so on their own terms. I hope they truly love each other and weren't pressured into marriage. Considering the circumstances that led up to their engagement coupled by the high divorce rate in this country it doesn't look good for either of them. I truly wish them well.

Do you expect parents to lock up their children under lock and key? Do you know that some children that comes from good homes can make mistakes too? Yes they are human.
