Can Police run out of state tags?

If you have an out of state tag and your in another state...can the police (state troopers, sheriffs, cops...whatever) look up your tag from their car in that state?

  2. yes they can.  Thats why you can get points in other states!!

  3. yes....it's nation wide including most places in Canada....we can also see your driving record, past registered vehicles, past criminal history etc......

  4. Yes. Police, Sheriff's, and Highway agency's all have access to a nation wide data base that can run local and out of state tags.

  5. Yes we can.   And in most instances we can check on the driver's license status of the registered owner, as well as a warrant check on the registered owner.

    I suspect  there is also more info available to them than just your registration.

    All state computers are interfaced in the Arizona Department of Public Safety building, at a place called NLETS (National Law Enforcement Teletype System)
