Portsmouth appear doomed to spending next season in the Championship after a nightmare season in the Premier League. The team is unrecognisable from previous campaigns, most of their best players have left the club and they are also in severe trouble financially.
However, against Manchester City they were the better team for large parts of the match and showed they still have the quality required to test their opponents. Still, the future looks desperately bleak for Pompey and they are only left with a very slim chance of avoiding relegation.
