Question:

Can Prednisone effect my blood pressure medicine, Lisinopril?

I was placed on Predinsone 5 days ago for an allergic reaction to a bite/sting. I have six days left of the RX. I have started getting the jitters really badly, and my face and neck are extremely red. I feel like my blood pressure medicine is not working at this time. Is this normal, or am I feeling the side effects of the Prednisone?

  1. No, Prednisone won't effect Lisinopril.

Lisinopril is a drug of the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor class that is primarily used in treatment of hypertension, congestive heart failure and heart attacks.

Prednisone is a synthetic corticosteroid drug and will not effect the Pharmacological process of Lisinopril.

But you'd better NOT take Prednisone if you have a hypertension or heart failure! Go to see your doctor for an alternative drugs.

    Good luck!
