  1. It all depends on what group of states you are in... if your are in the confederate stated, then you will come across "masonic racist". In the union states all lodges are intermingling. It sounds unmasonic, but some people let skin color get in the way.

  2. It depends on whether the Grand Lodge of the particular state permits visitation by Prince Hall Masons.  In the State of Pennsylvania, the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania permits visitation by Prince Hall Masons.

I cannot say what the rules are for any other states.

  3. This depends on the state in which you reside.  Some state Grand Lodges permit visitation and hold good relations with their Prince Hall counterpart.  The element behind it isn't one of race, it has to do with Charters.  I live in Germany, and am a member of the United Grand Lodges of Germany.  Our english speaking Lodge sought out  a charter from the existing Grand Body so that we might perform the American ritual here.  Unfortunately, there are Prince Hall Lodges (all on a militiary installation) who have not gone this route of obtaining a charter.  This dosn't mean that if you are a Prince Hall member you won't neccessarily be able to visit.  While we do not recognize any of the Prince Hall Lodges in our area, we do recognize 4 Prince Hall Grand Lodges from the states who have petition for recognition.  The best way to find out is to look in your Lodge's book of listed recognized Grand Lodges or simply e-mail the Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge in which you reside.  You of course want to make sure that the lodge you are visiting is recognized by your PH GL, so as not to breech any rules.  If you need further help, let me know.  I am always glad to help out another brother.

  4. Here in NY State a Prince Hall Mason can visit any other lodge, provided (as usual) he has the proper means of identification. A few years back the PH lodge wasn't formally "Recognized" but we could let them in to talk and socialize, even if they weren't permitted in an open lodge.

  5. I just chased a mud lark on the beach

    What rule did I break?

  6. Virginia's masonic bodies now fully recognize each other and there are frequent visitations.  This was a big step for a former Confederate State and it was long overdue.  Washington DC masons are actually fully integrated -- there is no distinction between Price Hall Masons and other Masons.  Those are the only two places I can speak to.
