    Depends heavily on the act in question, the sport in question and the contract.

    Most contracts in pro sports have what are colloquially refered to as a "morality clause," though its more of a liability clause.

    Teams don't want their own name to be defamed, so they can fine or release players as a result of outside antics. However, it is usually very limited because most contracts seem to favor the interests of the player.
