Can Puerto Ricans only beat Mexicans by faking injuries from back of the head taps?

I just wanted to see what everyone thinks about this topic. I guess that Cotto isn't so invincible any more.

So does this keep the tradition of Puerto Ricans not being able to step their game up against mexicans?

Please, no race wars here. I am not PR or Mexican.

  1. OK homie tell that to JUAN MANUEL LOPEZ  WHEN HE KNOCK THE **** OUT JUAN PONCE DE LEON.. ON THE VERY FIRST ROUND....HA!HA!

  2. no race wars?

"Puerto Ricans only beat Mexicans..." according to you? Shame on you.... :(

  3. With the undefeated Cotto losing to Margarito, this compares to the undefeated Wilfredo Gomez being demolished by Salvador Sanchez.......Sad times for Puerto Rico

  4. its all about the two men in the ring not what soil your born on.

By the way you dont know if you know that in puerto rican vs mexican fighter fights. Puerto rico has won more of those matches. i doubt they were by faking injuries.

Cotto may have lost but remember P.R has the most champs per capita. You can say what you want about Mexican the U.K and the phillipeans but Puerto Rico proudcest the best fighters in the world. I make my case in this video.

  5. Stepping their game up against mexicans? you must have too many mexican friends. Obviously you have never seen any other fight besides the Cotto one.

Know what youre talking about before asking such a questions.

  6. weeman, who is juanma? lol nobody cares and ponce deleon was just a wild hard puncher with no skills. vasqeuz and marqeuz would mop the floor with juanma just wait till it happends then all youull have is ivan haha

  7. You need to do some research. I think sometimes people come to illogical conclusions  because of ONE fight. Compared to the hundreds and even thousands of fights between these two Nationalities. Let's first dispell the hype which is: Daniel Santos, a Puerto Rican, beat Margarito. Juan ma beat Ponce De Leon, the favorite and:

(just championship bouts if I were to include every bout the numbers would be ridiculous)

Wilfredo Gomez beat: Tirado, Juan Lopez (2x), Zarate who was 52-0, Juan Meza, Rubaldino, Lupe Pintor. (He lost to a Mexican ONCE and a Great ONE! Sanchez)

Wilfredo Benitez beat Palomino and never lost to a Mexican.

And I haven't even mentioned Carlos Ortiz, Esteban Dejesus,Trinidad, Rosario, Cotto, Calderon and Camacho. Can you imagine if I were to make a compilation of all records how it would stand?

    Puerto Rico all the way!

  8. One's nationality has nothing to do with boxing talent...you ought to know better than asking questions like this, mexicans and puerto ricans produce many talented boxers simply because the sport is popular over there, in the same way americans and japanese produce talented baseball players......Cotto lost because margarito had the chin to take his best shots....if you actually paid attention you would have noticed the obvious, Cotto outboxed Margo for most of the fight but margo relied on his endurance and resilence to stay in the fight thus discouraging cotto. This whole race thing is simply ridiculous after all there is a philippino boxer that has already beaten three mexican legends....in burtal fashion...so quit with the stereotypes and simply watch fights for what they are....boxing matches!

  9. Who Cares we are all one race.

  10. NATIONALITIES DOSEN'T MATTER. IT'S HOW HARD YOU TRAIN. I AM PUERTO RICAN AND MY FAVORITE BOXER OF ALL TIME IS OSCAR DE LA HOYA AND HE IS MEXICAN/AMERICAN , WHY? BECAUSE HE IS A GOOD BOXER, IF YOU TAKE A WELL TRAINED MEXICAN WITH EXPERIENCE AND PUT A UNDERRATED PUERTO RICAN IN THE RING, THEN CHANCES ARE THE MORE EXPERINCED FIGHTER WILL WIN INSTEAD OF A FIGHTER THAT SUCKS(VICE VERSA). IT JUST ALL COMES DOWN TO HOW WELL YOU TRAIN AND HOW YOU COME IN A FIGHT NO MATTER IF YOU MEXICAN OR PUERTO RICAN. I BELEIVE BOTH NATIONALITIES ARE THE BEST AT BOXING AND MAKE A GOOD RIVARLY FOR THE DECADES

  11. First of all this is a very ignorant question that is based on opinion. it shows that some people talk about things and do not have any knowledge. Look at the facts then lets see if you have the same perspective.

For "Ace" if you don't know who Juan Manuel Lopez you will in the near future.

  12. im not tryn to show off or anything but mexicans have always  been good boxers

  13. First off, i'm Mexican myself. i was really suprised that Cotto got the beating that he got, i was actually rooting for him. the question you asked really is fair to Puerto Ricans, last night fight was simply just a one-sided fight, Margarito was definetly/clearly the better man of the fight. Cotto doesnt represent every P.R. boxer, he said it himself, he's just a man earning a living trying to fight, P.R. fighters will always be great fighters and there will always be great fighters from both Mexico and Puerto Rico, i mean if the Margarito/Cotto fight determined which country has better fighters, than who's to say that Miguel Cotto - Alfonso Gomez fight coulnd't have the same effect? yeah i know Gomez isnt the perfect fighter to represents Mexicans but it still was a Mexican/P.R. fight. Margarito just put one helluva show that will be remembered for a long time.

  14. No.
