Can Real Madrid retain their La Liga title?

Real Madrid have had a slow start to the league this season. Just after eight games Real Madrid are already behind their arch rivals Barcelona with eight points
This is uncharacteristic of Real Madrid since they are the defending champions and everyone was expecting them to do better at this stage of the season.
Their sudden deterioration of their league form is contributed to various reasons. Firstly there has been some conflict between the club and their star player, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629. It came into light that something has made him unhappy
in the club which somehow has disturbed the peace in the team.
When asked by journalists what was bothering him and made him not happy, the player cited some professional reasons.
“I am sad and the people at the club know about it. That is why I don’t celebrate goals. It’s about professional issues. I can’t say any more.”
However this fact alone cannot be contributed to their sudden poor performance that puts them way behind Barcelona.
Then there was the tension in the dressing room which involved their centre-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 who was not in good terms with the coach, Jose Mourinho, which led to his omission from the starting-line up in their first champions
League match against Manchester City. Ramos played down that conflict as just differences of opinion with the coach and that he had already put this episode behind him.
Performances on the ground haven’t been great too. Their games against Sevilla and Getafe were nights to forget about. They won with their teeth in their champions League opening game against Manchester City. Even Mourinho admitted
his team played horribly in their encounter with Sevilla and that they were simply outclassed and outperformed.
When they got the chance to reduce the gap to just three in El Clasico all they could come away with was just a point. If Real Madrid want to defend their La Liga title successfully they have to step up to the challenges ahead
of them bravely.
The other telling fact about Real Madrid’s dismal start to the season is their lack of killer instinct. For instance, last year they were converting nearly all their chances to goals and that was why they scored so many goals in
the league and that was one of the major reasons why they were crowned the champions. All of that is not happening this year.
You can say nothing is going for them at the moment and that everything is going against them. There just isn’t that positive hype in the air which is always known for Real Madrid football team and their loyal fans.
Now that they are already trailing eight points behind their arch rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, many people are already saying  Real Madrid are playing an already lost race and that they you should now just focus on the Champions League.
Others also think it is bit premature to concede the league now. 31 games are left and a lot of things can happen in a season. In football nothing is impossible and that is why Real has to keep their heads up and just keep focusing
on one game at a time. From now on every game is a final game for Real since that is the only way they can catch Barca
and retain their La Liga crown.
