Can Republicans tell when they've been insulted?

McCains choice to pick a woman for VP as a gimmick to steal Clinton supporters is a slap in the face to her political value and what she brings to the table (as if any woman will due). They don't even support the same issues! If Clinton supporters vote for her just because she's a woman shows how superficial they can be.

  1. No!

  2. McCain's choice, i believe, isn't going to take much of an effect. She's the governor of ALASKA! I can't wait to see her and Biden in a debate.

But on the other hand, stupid women would probably pick her just because she is a women.

  3. That was no gimmick to steal Clinton supporters. It was a play at energizing the base of the  Republican party. And you can tell it was successful cause all the base is just ROARing to get out there and support McCain Palin now. But as for Clinton supporters, a lot of them were insulted by Obama's "clinging to guns and religion" remarks. And I think Palin has a good chance of bringing THOSE over to the GOP

  4. I don't see how anyone could say she was brought in to win the women's vote, those that weren't going to vote for McCain would not have changed their minds because of Palin and besides that, she is Pro-life and most of the women voting for Obama are Pro-choice. She is conservative all the way and that's what McCain was going for, he wasn't the most popular candidate for the "hard line" Conservatives but bringing Palin onboard has calmed many staunch Conservatives. She is a tough lady that has a lot of savvy for a relatively short political career. She compliments McCain's ticket and the Republicans needed something to jolt them and this has definitely worked. I think many Democratic women that see this as a simply ploy give themselves too much credit.

  5. Yes, as a life-long Republican woman, I can see that I am being pandered to.  If they have lost my vote as a result of this choice, how are they ever going to pick up Clinton supporters?

Seems like a pretty desperate move to select Palin.  And frightening as well.  Think of it this way.  McCain is not a young man and the Presidency accelerates the aging process.  Just look at the way GWB has aged in the last few years.

So, how comfortable are YOU when you repeat this phrase; "Good morning, President Palin"?  It makes me very nervous.

Almost any other Republican not currently associated with the Bush administration would have been a better, more competent, more electable choice.

  6. Democrats don't get it, never will.

McCain didn't pick Palin to get Deocrat liveral women voters,

He choose her to solidify the evangical base

Accomplished, they are extremely happy and motivates

He choose Palin because she was a Washington outsider.

Accomplished, whihc ticket look like more the same old Washington and which one has the credentials to show they will buck partisan politics (Conress approval ratings 9%? people want real cahnge)

He choose Plain because she knows first hand about energy - oil/gas and the benefits it brings to the poeople of Alaska  (78% of people want drilling)

Have you not noticed that she talks about oil long before she even mentions Hillary?

McCain is distancing himself from GWB and placing his campaign of one that will end corruption, work with the other political party for what is in the interest of amerian voters)

Obama/Biden are now campaigning not on change but only a change from the Republicans to the Democrats and Washington politics as usual

  7. I find it hilarious how you Dems are in such a panic over Gov. Palin. And to think, we were all worried about hurricane Gustov and along comes hurricane Sarah Palin to blow the socks right off of the Libs! Ha! I love it! Dude, you look just like Barrak Apollo Obama during the Dem convintion. Looking like a real life, Greek, mythical figure there! Can I have a ride on your unicorn??

  8. I totally agree. Every move McCain makes in his campaign shows how much of a child he is.

    Political competition sucks!

  9. You don't really know the political difference between Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin do you? You should not be allowed to vote.

They are nothing alike, except they are women.

Women are not that shallow. but this attitude may have Democrat women changing parties.

  10. not understanding a common sense alternative shows just how superficial liberals can be.  Mccains choice for vp is a common sense one. here someone who said no to the liberal inspired bridge to nowhere and who successfully understands energy politics.  she doesnt believe in the obama signature moves of draconian taxation and unilateral surrender.  sorry liberal but you lose on this one.  i dont need a roadmap to figure this one out.  i could give a rats less about hillary or any one of her supporters.  this is a successfull governor and if you cant understand that you need to go back to pelosi to have it explained to you.

republicans certainly can tell when theyve been insulted.  liberal policy is such a move to do so.  palin is not.

  11. You are not very bright are you?  Why don't you tell me what they disagree on.  The only thing I know of is drilling in Alaska.  You need to do your research.

  12. Really...look at the fool that the Dems have! Ouch!

  13. NO

  14. So because McCain respects different opinions it is a bad thing?

Because she is a woman I am supposed to be insulted?

Why don't you take you ignorant, liberal butt back to the gutter....

What gives you the right ton insult me?

  15. Gee, I wonder if Clinton supporters know when they've been insulted?

  16. I take it from your post you well not talk of'' making history ''or say things ''it's time ''things like that

  17. Im not insulted one bit.

I think she was a great choice.
