Can Rick Adelman become the saviour for the Minnesota Timberwolves? NBA Special (Part-2)
Adelman’s Ability to use Power Forwards:
Rick Adelman possesses the great ability to use his power forwards. Back in the Sacramento Kings days he wonderfully handled Chris Webber and improved his game. He was an emerging player in 2000’s under the coaching of great Adelman.
In 2001, Chris Webber was at his best. He averaged 27 points and 11 rebounds per game and showed the league’s other players as how a talented coach can turn an individual’s game so impressive.
His extra athleticism on the court and passing abilities were also extremely helpful when the Kings’ qualified for post season. Rick Adelman beautifully crafted Webber’s game and now the expectations are equally high for his new
teams’ power forward Kevin Love.
Rick Adelman knows Kevin Love is a hugely talented player as he just needs to guide him how to control the game in the crucial situations. Kevin Love’s game has already brought him into the limelight when he made a double-double
record last season. He performed wonderfully and remained at top in the NBA charts with his longest streak of double figures rebounds and points. He truly led the Timberwolves in total 73 games and averaged 20.2 points and 15.20 rebounds per game. Kevin Love
certainly emerged as a true face of struggling Timberwolves and now after the arrival of Rick Adelman, his game will improve further.
Ability to use shooters
During his time in the Kings’, Adelman developed Peja Stojakovic’s game with great precision. His career 40 percent three point shot speaks for himself. Some basketball experts are comparing Stojakovic’s game with Timberwolves’
Michael Beasley. Both are very aggressive and point scoring players. The reason why these both players are now being compared as Rick Adelman has arrived in the Timberwolves. He has coached Peja Stojakovic during his coaching days in the Sacramento Kings and
since he has arrived in the Timberwolves, the comparison of both these players has started.
Michael Beasley has always impressed with his individual performance. He is brilliant scorer and last season played with huge energy. He played total 73 regular season’s game where he averaged 19.2 points, 5.60 rebounds and 2.2
assists per game. Adelman knows he has a brilliant scorer in his team in the face of Beasley and he just needs to give him little freedom to play as he likes to play.
Guard Ricky Rubio’s arrival:
Rick Adelman is well-known as a player builder. He will be a great help to Timberwolves’ guard Ricky Rubio. Though, at the moment no one can judge his game as he still to play a game in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Rubio will be joining the Wolves in the next NBA season. He recently played in the 2011 FIBA Eurobasket for his national team Spain. His game is relatively well but he still needs some grooming. The arrival of Ricky Rubio in the
Minnesota Timberwolves’ roster, will also him in the future. Adelman will work hard on him and try to improve his game.
