Laura Robson has reached the semi-finals of the 2010 Australian Open Junior Girls’ Singles – but can she go all the way? The 16-year-old has already proved she can win the majors at the junior level with her title at Wimbledon in 2008 and in her quarter-final match at Melbourne Park conceded just one game against her unseeded opponent Ester Goldfield.
At the 2010 Hopman Cup, the British player also proved she can push some of the women’s players in the top 50 and indeed, defeated world No. 26 Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez at that tournament. It all bodes well for Robson in the juniors at the Australian Open, where she has to be a very good chance of claiming the title.
