I dont think so.  Federer is usually the most dominant on grass courts and he cant win there.  I strongly believe that he will  not win another major tournament.  His career is regressing.

I think Federer losing the #1 ranking for now will be a relief for him. For the whole year Nadal has been superb and for his efforts over the past 18 months fully deserves it. Since the French it has been ineevitable that Nadal would take it. Federer may now feel free and refocused and ready for the challenge.

Federer's form recently hasn't been great at all for his standards and to go in and win without any momentum or a break will be a big ask-But I still think at the moment he is a better hard-courter than Rafa and Novak so of course he can win it, But I think it will be really hard for him.

I think this 'slump' all most will last until the end of the year where he will have his break and reflect, and refocus and come back next year making less errors and back to his old self.

NO. There are many other players playing better than him lately he still has a good shot of reaching the semis.

I think the reason he is in a slump is because nadal has played great this year and he shell shocked him.

But Federer needs to pull himself together and just suck it up and go out and play the tennis that hes been playing the last 4 years

I feel he is too good to let this slump stop him but it's just a matter of win he gets out of it

i think nadal is too good and at the moment will win everything just like federer was last year or so, but i think federer will comeback next year and win wimbledon. nadal is too good and younger

Nope, I don't think he has much of a chance.  I think he is going down in the semis to Djokovic and Nadal is going to whoop Djokovic.  Fed is done.

Yea I think he will rebound since Nadal hasn't fully established himself as a hard court champion on the Grand Slam stage yet, plus Roger has actually done well this year if you think about it (semis at Australia, finals at the French and Wimbledon) its just that he's performing below his traditional "flawless" level.  I think the man will get on track in New York

I personally will be surprised if Federer makes it too the second week, actually the third round!  He definitely can win more slams if he can somehow stay confident.  Im not sure he can get the Open this year though.  I don't think Nadal will win either.  When it comes to Federer though, I think he might turn out like Sampras in that he's really gonna have to grind for those last two record breaking slams.  I could be wrong, though.  He might pull himself together and get back to dominant form sometime next year.

at this moment i think nadal plays better than roger, but still hope that roger recover his capability because i love to see nadal and federer classic games...

I hate to say this because I'm a devoted Federer fan but I think Rafa has the highest chance of winning the US Open because Rafa has been absolutely on point this year and his hard court play has improved. Just look at how he played against Djokovic at the Olympics he was great! I know Djokovic the week before the Olympics wiped the hard court with Rafa so I give Djokovic a chance of winning the US Open also but I think Rafa will win it. I still give Federer a chance because I mean this is Federer he's always a threat at any grandslam but I just don't think it's going to happen and it will be good for him in a way because he can sit down and look at what went wrong and he'll be back to his old self in 2009 and give us a year we'll never forget, I firmly believe that's what will happen.

Nadal has got da best preparation for da slam but he has a far more jetlag than others bcoz of Olympics!

Its not at all easy to play ur best when u r at the top so it will b a challenge for him!

As far as Djoko is considered, lets take him as he comes. He's far unpredictable so its not necessary he may reach da semis.

I jus hope Fed plays well, wins da tourney and shuts the mouth of all his critics!!!!!

i am not sure if federer is complety done winning slams in tennis.. but i can certainly say that i feel that he will not do alot of damage at this years US OPEN..  reason being, it is the final slam of the year, the pressure on him will be tremendous.... i do not think that physicaly, and especially mentally he will be able to step it up and take out the good players this time around...

i said from the beganning of this year that federer will not win a slam.. and i still stick by that notion..
