Can SONY CCD-TRV238E connect to the computer ?

I have a sony ccd-trv238e handycam at my home .So can i connect my handycam with my computer ? And if yes then how ? PLEASE TELL ME !!

You must have a capture card.I suggest instead of playing with out of era equipmments and further spending more than 6000 Rs .get it converted to DVD at any nearest studio.That will save your time and money.If u want to convert your self only(i know there are some recordings which can not be given out.ooops)buy Pinacle Studio AV card.

The answer is YES!

Problem is it's not quite that simple so lets go through it.

With the camcorder you should have a lead with a small (3.5mm) jack plug at one end (connects to the camcorder) and at the other end three phono plugs (red/yellow/white).

These can be plugged into either your TV, dvd/video recorder or, IF you have the card in your PC a video input card.

I'm guessing that you probably won't have the card in the PC (on the back of the PC would be two or three phono inputs) in which case you would need to install a card or use an external capture device such as Dazzle (link below).

If you have a dvd recorder (under the TV) these have the inputs you need and can burn direct to DVD but you can't edit the film.

That appears to be an analog camcorder.

If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder…

You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog Hi8 camera to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

**Please Note There is no 8mm or Hi 8 to VHS Adapter that currently exsists. This type of VHS Adapter only exsists with VHS-C tape** So you need a working camera.
