Hopefully his impact will be greater than that of Ken Dryden in Toronto. Your thoughts?

  1. He seems to have a very positive influence on every organization he goes to.

  2. He most certainly will make a difference. It seems that the new management wants to move out of the Dark Ages and I'd be excited if I were a Blackhawks fan. You guys have much reason to be happy about the teams future.

  3. He'll have a large effect. Look at Neely with the Bruins he's like the vice President of something and you can tell that he has a big effect on everything. He'll do a lot with player management and things like that I think.

  4. Major name, minor difference, but then again the Chi-Hawks have been adding alot of pieces to the puzzle this year. It could be just that last little push they need.

  5. Look what he did with the Wings, he made them from a good team to  a great team. I think he will make a differance but will not stay long beacuse he is old and will retire soon.

  6. He will not make the difference.  The difference has already been made, now we just wait for these guys to develop.  They have one of the youngest teams, and have a bunch of guys with great talent and great expectations.  I see this as Scotty jumping on the Chi-hawks bandwagon, and not the opposite.

  7. he will make a difference but not a huge difference

he would have made a bigger difference if he was a coach but he certinly will make some of a difference

  8. The bar will be rised to a new level in Chicago. The players around the league will take notice for sure and you will see more big name players showing interest in coming over. Bowman is a winner, Chicago

will be in time. As for PR, Bowman is not a PR guy,  his knowledge about the game and the results he has produced over the years is what owners look for. It is clear to what the Blackhawks want to do and that's winning the Stanley Cup. They are on there way.

  9. Since I LOVE the Hawks, this is what I'll say...

Think about it. Scotty Bowman was with the Deadwings last year. They won the cup. Now that he's ours, I think it'll make a HUGE difference, not only with Scotty, but with Campbell and Kane and Toews, etc. My dad said "This year (07-08) we said "Let's try to go to the Playoffs. Next year (08-09) it's like "We BETTER make it to the Playoffs." Don't worry. We'll lose this Cup Drought.

COMMIT TO THE INDIAN!!! LETS GO HAWKS!!!

  10. he will make a difference. it will be on the small scale, i mean dont expect him to become coach any time soon, but it was more to be with his son who is also in their system. The man has done it all, now he just wants to be with his family, while still be involved in hockey

  11. I think that Bowman will make a moderately sized impact on the Blackhawks. IMO, it was probably more geared towards PR than it was for bettering the team. Scotty is getting up there in years and the game is constantly changing. The Blackhawks will, however, become a powerhouse within a decade. With the talent of Kane, Toews, and Campbell and the reestablishment of veteran Khabibulin, the Hawks are going to be considerably better this coming season

  12. he will not help the blackdicks win any time soon!! chicago stinks in hockey!
