Can Sean Pierson record second straight win over Will Kim Dong-Hyun? – UFC Special
The Canadian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Sean Pierson is ready to battle against South Korean MMA fighter Kim Dong-Hyun. Their bout is set for UFC 141 on December 30, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event is produced by the
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and would be a fight that the South Korean MMA fighter would not be willing to lose.
Entering into the bout, Pierson, the 35-year old Canadian lost his last bout in April 2011 against American MMA fighter, Jake Ellenberger at UFC 129. He was knocked out by Ellenberger by his straight punches. Pierson lost after
securing six consecutive wins from October 2008 to December 2011.
His opponent, Dong-Hyun, nicknamed Stun Gun would need a desperate win to get back on his winning streak. Dong-Hyun won fourteen straight wins in his career and was undefeated until July. In July 2011, he faced Carlos Condit at
UFC 132. Condit defeated Dong-Hyun by a technical knockout when Condit threw some serious punches and a flying knee shot straight at the South Korean.
For Dong-Hyun, the bout at UFC 141 against Pierson would be the one where he would be fighting for his dignity. For any fighter, a winning streak symbolizes his love for the combat sport and also the skills and techniques he possesses.
For Dong-Hyun, he loss against Condit would be like a nightmare. He would want to win at UFC 141to forget the harsh memories of that loss he suffered from the hands of the American.
The UFC management and officials are also excited about the Hyun-Pierson bout. The president of the UFC, Dana White, has also showed his thrill for the upcoming fight. He said "Two talented welterweights on the comeback trail will
face off at UFC 141 when Sean Pierson takes on the ‘Stun Gun’ Dong Hyun Kim."
Pierson can take on Hyun but would have to watch for the fighting ability that Hyun brings with him. Being a South Korean, belonging to the East Asian region where martial arts and combat sports are taught with diligence, Hyun
would be eager to get back on his feet with a win, and re-continue his winning streak.
Pierson, on the other hand, would have the effects of his first round loss to Ellenberger and would make sure he does not lose to Hyun in the same way. UFC 141 would be an action packed event as the Canadian and the South Korean
MMA fighter would bring their versatile fighting styles and entertain the UFC and MMA fans for sure.
