  1. in my case it works that way...

my antisocial behavior is just a way to hide my shyness and my insecurity in front of people... especially when it comes to strangers.

I end up being feared, being called arrogant and insensitive.

  2. does this fit into the meaning of ANTAGONISM

    1. an active hostility or opposition, as between unfriendly or conflicting groups: the antagonism between the liberal and the conservative parties.

    2. an opposing force, principle, or tendency: Her plan to become an actress met with the antagonism of her family.

    3. Physiology. an opposing action, as by one muscle in relation to another.

    4. the opposing action of substances, as drugs, that when taken together decrease the effectiveness of at least one of them (contrasted with synergism).

    5. Ecology.

    a. a relationship between two species of organisms in which the individuals of each species adversely affect the other, as in competition.

    b. the inhibition of the growth of one type of organism by a different type that is competing for the same ecological niche.

  3. Initially there IS a difference between the two.

But as the war progresses nobody remembers who started it.  What everyone sees is hostility.  The difference between perpetrator and the defender vanishes!

  4. If one chooses to view it that way.If they assault you,you fight back.Which will lead to either their leaving you be,or assaulting you once more.If they assault you again i guess your actions can be considered Antagonism. But who's to say they wouldn't have continued their assault even if you had not fought back?So i suppose it all comes down to the way you look at it.I personally think it shouldn't be classified as such.

  5. i think anytime somebody shows the slightest hint of being independent & not needing anybody..

this is always taken as superiority

(& not in a good way)

  6. It depends upon how far you take it. Perhaps carried to the extreme it is.

  7. no. self protection is defensive while Antagonism is a agressive behaviour. they are opposites.
