The potential is there, she just needs to work on here mental game.  In her matches you can see she starts out slow and throughout the match loses concentration.  If she can change all that, then next year her dream my actually become a reality.

I think it's a long shot.  We'll see how she fares at Wimbledon.  If she can get on a roll, and accumulate points the rest of the season, then she may be able to achieve her goal.

But also, we must look ahead to next year with this Indian Wells mess looming.  It will also depend on what type of punishment the WTA is going to impose on her for not playing Indian Wells.  (I personally think both sisters will never set foot in Indian Wells ever again.)  The WTA might suspend her for a couple of tournaments, and then she won't be able to play and defend her points in Florida.  

We'll see.

Of course she can be number 1 again, Serena set a goal for herself last year when she so fantastically won the Aussie Open, she said she had no doubt that she would be number one again. And if you look at where she was last year when she won the AO to being in the top 10 now in 2008 she certainly is making good on her goal. She is going to back to basics it seems by doing what she did when she started playing, working herself to where she wants to be, hitting some bumps but she's still here. I think she has a chance to get back to Number 1 at least by early next year. I hope she does she's my fav player ever. She's got the talent to do it, she just has to work hard at it.
